Top Best Lenovo Laptops

Lenovo’s notebooks have long been praised for their best-in-class keyboards and durable designs, but those qualities are just the tip of a very tall iceberg. From ThinkPads that set the gold standard for business laptops to Yoga hybrids that bend into four different modes, the company’s lineup is filled with powerful portables that help you make the most of work and play. These are our picks for the very best Lenovo laptops.

Lenovo LaVie Z (New and Notable)

Say hello to the lightest 13-inch notebook ever. Due out in May, the $1,299 Lenovo LaVie Z weighs just 1.73 pounds, but doesn’t skimp on specs, offering a full-fledged Intel 5th Generation Core series CPU and a full HD screen. A 2-in-1 version with a screen that bends back 360 degrees will cost $1,499 and weigh a slightly higher 2.04 pounds.

Lenovo Y50

There’s a lot to like about Lenovo’s affordable 15-inch gaming rig. Thanks to its Quad-Core Core i7 CPU and Nvidia GTX 860M graphics, the Y50 packs a lot of graphics prowess into its 5.4-pound, 0.9-inch thick frame. With a starting price of just $949 and a simple, but attractive, design, this is one rig that won’t drag down your wallet or your living room aesthetic.

Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro

At 2.6 pounds and just 0.5-inches thick, the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is one of the thinnest, lightest notebooks on the market, making it even easier to carry than the 13-inch MacBook Air. A new "watchband" hinge allows the 2-in-1 hybrid to lie completely flat or bend into tablet, tent or stand modes, while Lenovo Harmony Settings software tweaks your programs to work better as you switch from clamshell to slate. An eye-popping 3200 x 1800 touch screen and vibrant JBL speakers make this a lightweight entertainment powerhouse.

Lenovo ThinkPad X240

Welcome to the next-level of portable productivity. The 12.5-inch ThinkPad X240 packs powerful, battery-saving Intel 4th-Generation Core Series CPU technology, a super-tough durable design, and an optional full-HD screen--complete with touch capability. If you want the next-level of battery life, throw in the extended battery for more power than any other laptop on the market.

NOTE: The ThinkPad X250, the next version of this laptop, will be available in February. Though it looks the same, the X250 will have a faster, Intel 5th Generation Core series CPU inside; it also adds dedicated TrackPoint buttons.

Lenovo ThinkPad W540

When you need no-compromise business performance, look no further than the ThinkPad W540. This high-end laptop comes with a powerful quad-core Core i7 CPU, Nvidia Quadro graphics for demanding CAD and 3D applications, and a sharp 15.6-inch, 2800 x 1620 display that comes with a color calibrator in the deck. Add in a keyboard with the strongest tactile feedback on the market and a low-light sensitive webcam and you've got a powerful workstation that's ready to go anywhere.

Lenovo Yoga 2 11

Lenovo's Yoga 2 11 gives a whole new meaning to the phrase flexible budget. Priced at $499, this Best Buy exclusive offers the 360-degree, bendable hinge of the Yoga series without killing your wallet. Plus, Lenovo's Yoga Picks utility highlights apps that it thinks would be beneficial to users, and tailors its selections based on the Yoga 2's modes.

NOTE: An updated model, the Yoga 3 11-inch, will be available in March for $799. It will include a new Intel 5th Generation Core Series CPU and a more premium design.

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga

Lenovo's ThinkPad Yoga is a well-designed business hybrid with a rotating 12.5-inch display that works with the included 4.5-inch stylus. We love the excellent keyboard. While this model doesn't offer a removeable or extended battery option, users will still appreciate the more than 8 hours of battery life.

Lenovo ThinkPad T440s

The ThinkPad T440s is the best thin-and-light business laptop on the market. Fourth-gen Intel CPU tech, hot swappable batteries, and an internal power source ups the juice limit to 14 hours. That means, you'll have plenty of time to clear your workload on the T440s' industry-leading keyboard and vivid 1080p display.

NOTE: A new version of this notebook, the ThinkPad T450s, will become available in Feburary 2015. It has the same design, but uses a new Intel 5th Generation "Broadwell" CPU and adds dedicated TrackPoint buttons.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro

Like its successor, the Yoga 2 Pro sports a 3200 x 1800-pixel display, an eye-popping 3200 x 1800 display and the ability to bend into laptop, tent, stand or tablet modes. Though not quite as thin and light as the Yoga 3 Pro, the 2 Pro has a starting price that's a full $350 less.
